CCA-18: Knowledge for socio-economic development: Latin American Applied Research Network on Social Economy - Final Report |
|
| Description: |
Latin America's lack of social and institutional capital includes, among other things, that universities and research activities are fragmented among themselves and separated from social actors, making difficult the production and access to meaningful knowledge. As a result, there is a lack of conceptual and rigorous empirical knowledge to systematize those rich experiences and support the Social Economy paradigm, as well as horizontal communication among new practices in different regions of the continent. Activist networks exist, but no scientific action-oriented networks. This PAMS set up a dynamic network with a resourceful internet portal to pool multidisciplinary research resources, stimulate comparative studies and build relevant data bases useful for the social organizations, researchers, and for enhancing joint knwoeldge production and exchange with other northern networks on an equality basis.
