IP5: LASUR
Theme: Social practices and empowerment in urban societies
Summary: Objectives

Market in RD

IP5 examines social practices and integration strategies of urban populations in order to understand their underlying logic and their impact on societal and territorial transformations. These “bottom-up” strategies are analysed in their relation to “top-down” policies implemented by public authorities and to the impact of new driving forces emerging from the local and global markets. The aim is to identify new forms of participatory decision-making (or governance) that integrate all social actors in a sustainable urban and regional development process.
